Lessons Itinerary
A Brief Guide to the Itinerary.
This is just a basic guide to how the lessons may go for the average learner.
For more experienced pupils this may vary and if your lessons are not falling
within this range do not worry, it may be due to stronger abilities in certain
areas or your pick up location, the time of the year your lessons began or many
other factors.
| L1 |
|
In this lesson (for a complete beginner) then you can expect a 90 minute session and a detailed explanation on all the controls, buttons, pedals and levers, and how to use them. Then how to check for all round safety before moving away and pulling up safely. |
| L2-4 |
Following up on the previous lesson's you will now be looking at how to move away consistently. Then how to negotiate the car around left turns and right turns. Improving clutch control and steering as we progress along and how to pull up in safe areas and observing road rules and regulations. |
|
| L4-10 | About here the average pupil would be introduced to new subjects; pedestrian crossings, angled starts and moving through all the different gears. Then moving onto busy roads instead of nursery routes. And manoeuvring will be introduced about here. | |
|
L10-20
|
Lessons now will be about roundabouts and improving general driving, consistently using MSM as and when needed, and I will also be introducing the majority of the manoeuvres now, if they haven’t already begun. | |
| L20-30 | By now as most manoeuvres will have been introduced, bringing them up towards test standard will be the aim whilst still improving general road and spatial awareness to other road users coming and going. | |
| L30-40 | Hopefully by this point learners should have made sufficient progress to have a test date either booked or due to be booked. In the later lessons pupils will also be learning about emergency stops and the show me tell me questions dealing with car maintenance and upkeep. | |
